A Widget which shows a daily quote would be awesome. For this you would have to feed it with quotes (or questions, or anything else) and then it would randomly choose one of the quotes. Everyday at 0:01 am or something like that, it would randomly choose a new quote.
Simple design-elements (making background a little bit transparent, choosing color, auto-adjust font-height and things like that) would be very useful.
